Overview

Nettle (Urtica dioica) has been used since the Bronze Age; initially the fibers from the stalks were used to make a cloth similar to linen. In fact, the name nettle comes from words meaning “textile plant”. It is called “stinging nettle” because it can cause an itchy painful irritation upon contact with the skin. Nettle is a perennial plant that grows up to 5 feet with lance-shaped leaves and green flowers. It is an alkalizing herb that is rich in minerals, especially iron and is also a source of carotenoids and Vitamin C. Nettle has been used in Europe for many years for treating a host of disorders.

Recommended Dosage
